SUPERMAC INTRODUCES PROFESSIONAL VERSION OF PIXELPAINT, THE GRAPHIC DESIGN STANDARD FOR THE MACINTOSH
ATLANTA, Georgia (August 2) -- SuperMac Technology introduced today a vastly enhanced version of its popular PixelPaint™ color painting and design program --PixelPaint Professional™--. This new product will be demonstrated as part of the Apple Computer Booth #1158 at SIGGRAPH August 2-4, 1988.
Incorporating the requests and wishes of the large installed base, PixelPaint Professional includes a unique combination of professioanlly based tools and a series of features which will enable it to maintain its position as the standard of color paint and graphic design programs for the Apple® Macintosh® II computer.
These features include a highly sophisticated color palatee system including a full array of Pantone® colors, readily available throught the Color Picker. This feature allows a user to search color interactively, as if thumbing through a book of Pantone color samples.
PixelPaint Professional now enables the users to easily manipluate colors through sophisticated dithered blending which achieves smooth color blends with very few colors. this eliminates color banding which has been found in previous 8-bit color paint packages.
Other unique features of PixelPaint Professional include PixelScan™ color scanning utility, a built-in color separator with screen angling and undercolor removal capabilities as well as spot color separation keyed to Pantone colors. These will provide the professioanl graphics designer with important business solutions.
PixelPaint Professional offers the most comprehensive feature list, the most
powerful color manipulation, and the easiest-to-use interface of color paint
products available for the Macintosh II computers.
PixelPaint Professional additional features include: a Frisket, which is a
masking technique for painting, airbrushing and drawing and a Quickcolor Editor
providing global search and replacement of colors. There is a new full screen
format allowing the display of a 1024x1024 8-bit color image with two megabytes
of memory. There are other important and useful color features and special
effects such as smearing, blending, anti-aliasing, warping and blurring.
PixelPaint Professional has also been enhanced by introducing features such as
new image processing and visual effects. there are new file formats including
TIFF in black and white, custom file sizes and new printing effects. Select
Last, a new editing choice will allow the user to reposition a previous stroke.
Fully System 6.0, AppleTalk and AppleShare compatible, PixelPaint Professional
provides expanded printing support as well as various speed enhancements. It
comes with both a User and Reference Guide to permit the user to take the best
advantage of the program's capabilities.
PixelPaint Professional is designed to follow all correct Apple standards. By
properly utilizing the color palette manager, graphics developed under
PixelPaint Professional are easily imported into other software applications.
PixelPaint Professional will be priced at $595 and will be available in
October. currently registered users of PixelPaint 1.0 or 1.1 will be notified
of the upgrade policy.
